"Fancy Delma" herself with Emily

Thanks to Kristyn this wonderful day came to be. Love her!

So Hallee was under the table when we were learnin about our
ancestors and grandma. She was stealing my shoes from me and I
had to take this pic.. so so cute!! PRICELESS:)

Grandma Nettie's dress.. I LOVED this
one and told Meag we need to bring it
back in style!

Jennie wearing the dress that grandmas mom
wore to grandmas wedding. It looked brand new!

Emily in Grandma's Wedding Dress:)

Me in Grandma's little nighty:) Funny story: while
grandpa was on his mission he bought this for her and
sent it to her while she was on her mission which was
at the same time. hahaha.. if a kid got caught doin that
now days he would be sent home!! I felt honored to wear
it:)

Diane wasn't in the fashion show but she was wearing
grandpas mom dress.. she looked the best!!

Fancy Sam and Fancy Mandi:)

So grandsas twin sister Pauling showed up with
her husband and they were all dressed up.. hahaha
that made the day! He was even wearing high heels!

We will remember this day forever!

Fancy Diane's clan:)

I won best dressed (Diane actually won
but she is the one that brought the gift
so they chose me next.. I got this lovely
parsley plant!! By the way the outfit
I'm wearing is my grandma Louedas-
my mom found it cleanin out my grandpas
house since he past away. CLASSIC!!

As you can tell from all the pics we had a freakin blast. It was so fun to take up one day and just go all out and wear whatever you wanted! The idea first started when Kristen needed to borrow some platter from grandma Delma and when she went to look through her stash of china she thought it would be so cool to hear about where she got them all and then realized she really doesn't know that much about her grandma growing up and Grandma and Grandpas moms.
It was so neat to learn about Jakes ancestors and to hear the lives that they lived. Seriously such strong women! We also had a fashion show and that was so awesome to see what they wore and we also played a game. There were these items on the table and we had to guess who they belonged to.. Some of these items had been through many many years and it was awesome to see what they cherished back then.
Having that day made me wish that I could have done that with my grandmas. It would have been awesome to hear some stories about my ancestors. So many people put so much work into that day and it was so special.. in a spiritual way also. We would all tear up when anyone would talk about grandma and the huge part she has played in all our lives. I feel so blessed to be married in the Dyreng family. It made me that much more proud to have taken on the Dyreng name. I hope we get to do another fun day like that. Mostly all the cousins were there except a few which we missed very much. So grateful for such awesome women in my life. Its crazy that my grandkids one day will want to know about the life I lived and about my moms and about Diane. Its weird when you think about it that way... Anyways we had such a blast and i'm so grateful for Kristyn and her wonderful ideas all the time and the hard work she put into this day. It will forever be remembered:)

..."I believe in the family where there
is a husband who regards his
companion as his greatest asset and
treats her accordingly;
where there is a wife who looks upon
her husband as her anchor and strength.
The cultivation of such a home
requires effort and energy,
forgiveness and patience,
Love,
and, endurance, and sacrifice;
but it is worth all of these and more."....
